Ne-Yo Gives Back!

Some people pray, others give shout outs, and most, unfortunately, do nothing. R & B sensation, Ne-Yo paid a visit to Nagoya, Japan this past week to show his support and love to the people affected by the tragic tsunami and earthquake that recked many homes very recently. He performed and did charity work to help with the relief work.

Hopefully more people will follow his lead and those that regularly give back, famous or not, and lend a helping hand to others who are less fortunate. It’s good karma.

Chris Brown‘s new album, since Exclusive in 2008, is scheduled to be released in just a few weeks on March 22nd. The album will be called F.A.M.E. featuring the hit songs we’ve all heard “Look at Me Now,” “Deuces,” and “No Bullsh*t.” These songs have been in heavy rotation on the radio stations so hopefully his entire album is fire.. Fire Album = High Sales/Downloads. He has collaborated with several different artists for this album.

Blonde?! Some people are so crazed about him dyeing his hair blonde that the story made CNN. Seriously people? There isn’t enough wrong with the world that the only story you came up with was about this man’s hair?? We shake our heads in disgust. As a personal opinion, it’s an extreme look yet he pulls it off well.

Chris Brown’s site Mechanical Dummy is a great way to understand the creativity he’s working with. It features fashion, arts and culture, and music (not just from him). It’s nice to see that artists are not just about themselves and fame doesn’t totally consume them. Speaking of fame, the F.A.M.E. tour is going to start in Australia and I’m sure will make its way back to us here in the states. Get your tickets before they are sold out!

Featuring Chad Michael Murray from the hit TV series One Tree Hill, Alicia Keys shows the struggle of interracial relationships. Betraying family to follow your heart.. society giving dirty, unapproving looks.. the stares. Things have improved over the years but it is still hard for very many people to accept, and just Blacks and Whites but amongst Hispanics, Asians, Middle Easterns, etc. One day it won’t be so bad but in the meantime we can only progress a little at a time. Check out this video.. 🙂

From her performance in Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman singing “Father Can You Hear Me” to her debut “Promise Ring” featuring Ciara to her latest single “I’ll Be There”… Miss Tiffany Evans is all grown up. Her voice is as beautiful as ever. Check out the video below!

This new face is known as Jessie J, 22-year-old British R&B star from the UK. Her sound is different from mainstream artists but if you’re well rounded in music you’d know she’s not that different. She has written songs for Chris Brown (“I Need This”), Miley Cyrus (“Party in the USA”), and others. Jessie J is signed to Island Records. She tweeted this morning that they have decided that the album will be released on 28th February, a whole month before the original date. She’s already won the Critics Choice Brit Award and BBC Sound of 2011 Poll. I think she’s off to a great start with her career. Her album “Who You Are” features her two hottest singles “Price Tag” and “Do It Like A Dude.”

The title track and 1st single, “Who You Are” is about a point in Jessie’s career where the singer’s aspirations were hanging on a thread. “The most important thing in life is to be happy, but everything had become too ‘business’ and sterile. I really thought I was going to quit—not music, but the music industry…it wasn’t easy,” Jessie states. “I was really down, but when I’m down, I write a song about it.” (source: jessiejofficial.com)

Jessie J has claimed that her fans will stick around because they can see she’s not just an industry puppet or a robot that they can’t relate to. (source: taletela)

Check out her single “Price Tag” featuring B.O.B.

New Face.. New sound.!

This NEW hip hop and r&b sensation, known as K’la the Lyricist, is making her way into the entertainment mix one song at a time. Her most recent radio hit “All Your Love” is topping charts. I personally can’t wait to hear what’s next. Her sound is a mix between old school Alicia Keys, back when she wore the braids, plus a little Erykah Badu. When she raps it’s just different.. new but old at the same time.

She is definitely a solid vocal threat to the industry and is already signed to Music Line Entertainment, LLC.

Check in to her Twitter @klathelyricist to stay posted.

Here’s a sneak peek of her mixtape, The Coldest Winter Ever, promotional video.
