The White House will host a civil rights concert to celebrate Black History Month featuring such greats as Smokey Robinson, Natalie Cole, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Queen Latifah and Bob Dylan.

The concert, called “In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music From the Civil Rights Movement,” will be on Feb. 11 in the State Dining Room, and is timed to celebrate Black History Month. It will be hosted by Morgan Freeman and Queen Latifah, and will feature songs associated with the civil rights movement as well as readings from famous civil rights speeches.

The concert is the latest event in a music series started last year by First Lady Michelle Obama and will be broadcast on public television and streamed live online at

Forgot Obama was Black??

I think that although he may have meant this as a compliment attempting to say that while listening to President Obama’s State of the Union Address, race didn’t matter… it was a poor choice of words.

Announced last night via Twitter, The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will play host to a memorable performance of Drake’s “Forever” remix featuring, Lil Wayne, Eminem and Blink 182 drummer, Travis Barker.

The 51st Annual Grammys saw a similar performance when T.I. performed the boastful posse cut, “Swagga Like Us” featuring Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Kanye West.

However, for unspecified reasons, Kanye West, who is also featured on “Forever,” was not named in the announcement as a performer. West is still experiencing backlash for crashing the 2009 MTV VMA stage during country singer Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.

This will also likely be Lil Wayne’s last award show performance before his early February sentencing for pleading guilty to a felony gun possession, stemming from a 2007 arrest in NYC. Weezy is expected to serve up to a year in jail. (Source)

MTV has announced that its hit reality show, Jersey Shore, will return with the original cast for a second season this summer.

Pauly Delvecchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, Ronnie Margo and Vinny Guadagnino will all “escape the cold Northeast and find themselves in a new destination” for season 2, MTV said in a statement. (Source)

I fell in love with this show… the cast seems so cool but I think ultimately I just love Jersey.

In a recent interview, Pauly explained that while fame is all kinds of fun, he’s having trouble keeping the ladies at a safe distance. “I’ve had so many girls stalking me, it’s crazy,” he said, adding that one female especially creeped him out. “She drove five hours to come see me, then five hours back. She was what I call a stage five clinger.”

We’re told it was important the producers wanted to avoid infighting among the cast … at least on the subject of money — so Pauly D, The Situation, Snooki and the gang will all be paid exactly the same.

As we first reported, the cast negotiated their deals like the cast of “Friends” — either they all got paid the same … or nobody got paid. Read more: TMZ.

So where will MTV send the cast next season?? Who knows but I can’t wait…

Someone asked on the Wendy Williams show a couple nights ago: “Since when is reality television a full time job??” Random thought: “I should be on a reality show.. LOL. Maybe one day!”

Kim and Khloe Kardashian star in this Quick Trim diet pill commercial…. wow.! Super cheezy to me! Nothing against the girls though.. lol.

And now… “Red Carpet”

I usually am not a big fan of rap, but listening to Wiz Khalifa is slowly making me come around. I think he’s real dope! Given a chance to collaborate with him would be so sweet. If you aren’t following this man on Twitter… you need to. Click here.

New gadget: iPad Tablet computer

Posted: January 28, 2010 in General

Apple introduces the new $499 iPad Tablet computer Will you but it???

SAN FRANCISCO – Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the company’s much-anticipated iPad tablet computer Wednesday, calling it a new third category of mobile device that is neither smart phone nor laptop, but something in between.

The iPad will start at $499, a price tag far below the $1,000 that some analysts were expecting. But Apple must still persuade recession-weary consumers who already have other devices to open their wallets yet again. Apple plans to begin selling the iPad in two months.

Jobs said the device would be useful for reading books, playing games or watching video, describing it as “so much more intimate than a laptop and so much more capable than a smart phone.”

…. Jobs said the device has a battery that lasts 10 hours and can sit for a month on standby without needing a charge.

Raven Zachary, a contributing analyst with a mobile research agency called The 451 Group, considered the iPad a laptop replacement, especially because Apple is also selling a dock with a built-in keyboard.

But Forrester Research analyst James McQuivey said he does not believe the iPad offered enough additional features for consumers to justify buying yet another gadget, or to call it a new category of device.

…. Like iPods and the iPhone, the iPad can sync with Apple’s Macintosh and Microsoft’s Windows computers. Jobs said the iPad will also be better for playing games and watching video than either a laptop or the small screen of a smart phone.

Unlike a laptop, the iPad has an accelerometer, so gamers can tilt the device to control what’s happening on the screen. And the iPad is lighter and easier to hold for long periods of time while watching a movie or TV show.

Its large screen makes it much easier to touch type than on a smart phone, and it is extremely responsive to finger swipes and taps for easy scrolling through Facebook, photo albums and news articles.

“Can I get AIDS from swimming in a pool with black people??” <<< I typed this random statement in Google and amazingly, but not so amazing, so much racist crap popped up. It's ridiculous how ignorant people are… and to Blacks who argue with people who think like this… You look ignorant too. Why waste your time and energy over stupidity?? Statements like this are just a constant reminder of how the world really hasn't changed. Sure we have interracial schools, marriages, and so on… but even the best of friends who are different races still crack racial jokes to each other. I guess depending on your relationship with people maybe it's okay to you… but stuff like this is just crazy.

Here are some of the comments posted…

Q: I was at the pool today, and a black family got in. I immediately got out and checked inside of my shoe to see if they stole my wallet or phone. A few minutes later, my eyes got all red and watery. Did they give me the AIDS?”

These were some of the answers: Yes, Yes they did. I am glad you know how the world works!

nah bro you’re good…you prolly only have HIV which won’t develop into AIDS for at least 3 or 4 years.

Yes n*gger carry the AIDS virus, the excrete it through there nose (that is why it is so big) go to your family doctor immediately and get tested. But you will probably die. Sorry brosif.

look if this offends you mabye this will make you feel better, How do you starve a blck man?
You hide his food stamps under his work shoes!
Is that better you sensitive ass bitch!
kiss my ass n*gga!

It’s proven that no contact is required to get AIDS from blacks, so theoretically you could get it from them looking at you

Sadly, yes. But luckily you didn’t get the full effect of items people “out of place” See a doctor to see how badly you’ve been affected. Black people are a serious offence to deal with. The red eyes is stage one and a rash will come next. Be careful next time because it’ll get serious.

Not even a chance unless they had AIDS(which they could have regardless of race) and then got wounded and started bleeding. Proper chlorination should kill off the virus even then. Your red eyes, could be a sign that the pool has an inadequate ammount of chlorine and the chlorine isn’t dissolving properly. Have whoever is in charge of the pool test to make sure it has the right ammount.

you are incorrect. obviously you are just trying to make this person feel better. yes, you have aids… there is no doubt about it… if anybody tells you otherwise, they are only making fun of the fact that you even had to ask. see a doctor right away, and good luck.

Of course you have AIDS. It is common knowledge that AIDS is carried by not only all black people but also homosexuals. Now this begs the questions, what about black homosexuals? The answer is very simple. Super AIDS. A form of AIDS so powerful it only takes a single AID to kill your average heterosexual white man within seconds.

when did black people learn how to swim?

sure, the blacker where they, is the stronger the virus will be, dont even stare at them.. they can infect you, because you are a fucking monkey n*gger ;).

Hey Dumb ass…i feel that its my duty to let you know that yes…you do have aids….i have infected many a cracker in my day…..i’m pretty sure that the same black family that gave you aids are part of my kill the cracker help immediately….! : ) Best of Luck!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Wait…your offending half of me. That half sez, f*ck you! But wait, the ignorance is so funny, the white half has to laugh. I’ll be back…half to decide which side i’m on…lol.

I, myself, come from a mixed family so we tend to stay away from the racial comments and situations. I must say, acknowledging the fact that I am mixed just makes me that much more aware of the things people say. But it’s the world we live in, right… smh.

What is it with people making comments about Haiti?

ESPN fired former NBA player Paul Shirley from his position as a sports blogger for a blog he wrote on another website criticizing Haiti relief efforts and the victims of the Jan. 12 earthquake.

In the blog Shirley posted on he alleged that Haitians are responsible for their own fate and should bear the brunt of their recovery.

Although some of the comments made by Shirley can seem offensive, I believe that he took a different approach to the Haiti situation and really thought about what may come of the unconditional help being spewed at them. He considered the aftermath based on past experiences. I’m not saying that I support him or the others who are against him, but this article was very well written and I give him kudos for having the balls to say any of it. If you’ve read this far, please take a couple moments to read the actual article he wrote and was fired over.

Feel free to comment.

I just think this video is beyond weird but hilarious! Mime Porn… lmao! Watch..

A source told the New York Post newspaper: “The club will be decorated with images from the New York skyline. Diddy will perform with his band, Diddy-Dirty Money, but there will also be some big name performers taking the stage to surprise Justin.”
